The project
Collège Jean de la Mennais is a private secondary education establishment located in the city of La Prairie, in Quebec, near Montreal. It welcomes around 1700 students and houses the Frères de l’instruction Chrétienne. Comprised of 18 wings, the College covers an area of about 506,000 square feet (47,000 square meters).
The College took the initiative of collaborating with SOFIAC to implement an energy efficiency and greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction project, aligned with the values it embodies and transmits to its students.
Expected results
34% reduction of energy consumption including 57% natural gas
262,000$ in annual savings, representing a 29% reduction
57% avoided GHG emissions, representing 637 tCO2eq/year
